Over the last several years I have joined two local business chambers in our local area. We are in between two towns, so we currently are involved with both. I would highly recommend businesses considering the benefits of joining these type of groups. Here are the benefits that I see:
Stronger community relationships
Relationships with the business professionals
Fundraising opportunities
Member benefits like advertising and trade shows
Social meet and greet events
Building trust with leader and influential people in your community
Seeing the needs in your local community
If you do join, look for activities that you can participate in. There is little reason to join if you don’t do anything with the opportunity. These groups are sometimes a hub for letting businesses know about potential events.
